Shadowfetch Privacy Policy

Summary

Shadowfetch does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data. Everything you enter stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no network calls, and no third-party services.

What Data the App Stores

Shadowfetch stores only the data you explicitly enter: event titles, notes, target dates, recurrence settings, reminder preferences, and personalization choices (color or photo). This data is written to your device's local SwiftData storage. It never leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself (for example, by using the Share Countdown Card feature).

Background Photos

If you attach a background photo to an event, that photo is copied from your photo library into the app's Application Support folder on your device. Shadowfetch does not upload, transmit, or otherwise share your photos. The photo remains on your device until you remove it from the event or delete the app.

Share Countdown Card / Elapsed Time Card

The Share Card feature generates a 1080×1080 image on your device containing the event's title, days remaining or elapsed time, and anchor date. Sharing that image is entirely your choice and is handled by iOS's standard share sheet. Shadowfetch does not upload or transmit the image independently.

CSV Export

The CSV Export feature creates a plain-text file on your device containing your event data (titles, notes, dates, categories, and settings). The file is written to a temporary location on your device and is shared only if you choose to share it via the iOS share sheet. Shadowfetch does not upload or transmit the CSV file independently.

Event Health Report

The Event Health Report is generated on your device from your local events. It summarizes counts such as reminders, pinned events, recurring events, categories, photo-backed events, stale records, and upcoming dates. The report is shared only if you choose to share it through the iOS share sheet. Shadowfetch does not upload or transmit the report independently.

Home Screen and Lock Screen Widget

The Shadowfetch widget reads the nearest event's title, notes, and next occurrence date from a shared UserDefaults container (App Group) that is local to your device. No data passes through a Shadowfetch server or any third-party service.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, Shadowfetch schedules local notifications using iOS UserNotifications. Notification content (event title and notes) is stored locally and delivered by iOS without passing through any Shadowfetch-operated server.

Tracking and Analytics

Shadowfetch contains no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting services, no advertising frameworks, and no tracking of any kind. It does not track users across apps or websites.

Permissions

Shadowfetch may request the following permissions:

• Photo Library (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription): Only if you choose to attach a background photo to an event. The app reads the selected image and copies it locally; it does not access any other photos.
• Notifications: Only if you choose to set a reminder on an event.

No other permissions are requested or used.

Children

Shadowfetch is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from minors.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a material way, the effective date above will be updated. Because no data is collected or transmitted, any changes will relate only to how the app stores data on-device.
