Quitstone Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 13, 2026. This policy explains how Quitstone handles data.
Local-only by design
Quitstone stores everything you add — your quits, dates, costs, notes, dated check-ins, moods, triggers, relapse history, reasons, and savings goals — entirely on your device in a single local file. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. The app does not require a network connection and sends none of your data anywhere.
No tracking, no analytics, no ads
Quitstone does not track you across apps or websites, contains no advertising, and uses no third-party analytics SDKs. There is no in-app purchase and no subscription. The app's privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types.
Local notifications
Optional reminders — milestone alerts and a daily check-in nudge — are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's on-device notification system. They are opt-in, can be turned off at any time, and involve no server, no push tokens, and no network. Quitstone never sends marketing or promotional notifications.
Bundled content
The recovery timeline, milestone and badge definitions, reasons library, and coping content are included inside the app. They are static reference content and do not collect any data. The recovery timeline is general wellness information commonly cited from public sources and is not medical advice.
Backup and export
When you choose to export a backup, a single JSON file is created on your device and shared only through the system share sheet to a destination you pick (such as Files or iCloud Drive). Quitstone never uploads it on its own. Importing a backup reads a file you select; quits you already have are never duplicated.
Permissions
Quitstone requests notification permission only if you turn on reminders. It requests no other permissions — no camera, microphone, photos, location, or contacts. You can change notification permission in the Settings app at any time.
