Help, troubleshooting, and contact information for Outpost Desk 2.1.

Getting Started

Open Outpost Desk and create a new workspace with Cmd+N. Choose a mode from the toolbar, type or paste text, optionally attach a PDF, then send. Your conversations are stored locally and persist between launches.

Text Analytics

Click the word-count badge in the chat toolbar (or press Cmd+Shift+A) to open the analytics panel. It shows live word count, reading time, Flesch Reading Ease, Flesch–Kincaid Grade Level, and a top-10 keyword list for your current input.

Snippet Library

Press Cmd+Shift+S or click the star icon in the toolbar to open the Snippet Library. Click + to create a snippet, hover a row to see Insert/Edit/Delete, or right-click for the context menu. Snippets are saved on your Mac.

Exporting

Use the toolbar icons or the Tools menu to export any conversation as Markdown (Cmd+Shift+E) or CSV (Cmd+Option+E). You can also right-click any conversation in the sidebar.

Dispatch Packet

Use Cmd+Shift+D or the Tools menu to create a handoff packet from the active workspace. The packet shows a readiness score, summary, actions, questions, dates, risks, next steps, readability grade, and clarity score, then can be copied as Markdown.

Permissions

Outpost Desk only requests access to files you explicitly open via the system file picker. No microphone, camera, location, or network access is used. All processing happens on your Mac.

Common Questions

Does the app require an account?
No. Outpost Desk is fully offline and stores everything locally.

Where is my data stored?
Conversations are stored in the app's sandboxed container. Snippets are stored in UserDefaults on your Mac. Nothing leaves your machine unless you explicitly export a file.

How do I delete a conversation?
Right-click the conversation in the sidebar and choose Delete.

What are the keyboard shortcuts?

How do I remove the app?
Quit the app, delete it from Applications, and remove any files you created or exported.
