Massweft works without an account or network connection. The answers below cover supported encodings, local files, comparison, and export.
Which mzML binary arrays are supported?
Massweft decodes little-endian 32-bit and 64-bit floating-point arrays with no compression or zlib compression. It recognizes m/z, intensity, and time arrays. Unsupported encodings such as Numpress remain visible as parser notices and are not presented as decoded values.
Why is decoded coverage partial?
A file may use an unsupported encoding, contain malformed Base64, declare an array length that does not match the payload, or exceed the mobile decode budget. Open Evidence to see the retained parser notice. Use a desktop pipeline for complete processing of very large or unsupported runs.
Does the run gate validate an mzML file?
The run gate performs factual checks over the parsed content, including declared counts, decoded coverage, scan-time order, and MS-level presence. It does not claim complete PSI schema or semantic validation and does not certify laboratory data integrity.
How does XIC work?
Massweft sums decoded MS1 intensities within the symmetric ppm window around the selected target m/z. Integrated area uses the trapezoidal rule over timed scans. It does not identify a compound, pick peaks, calibrate the instrument, or provide quantitative validation.
Where are imported files stored?
Files chosen through Apple's Files picker are copied into Massweft's local run library. Removing a run deletes the app-managed copy. The original file remains controlled by its source location.
What can I export?
The share control can generate a readable PDF evidence packet, a machine-readable JSON manifest, or scan-level CSV. The Apple share sheet appears only after an explicit export action.
Contact support
Include the app version, device model, iOS or iPadOS version, parser notice, and concise reproduction steps. Do not send private laboratory data unless you intentionally choose to share it.
