Help and contact information for Drive Case. Last updated June 17, 2026.

Getting Started

Open Drive Case, go to the Garage tab, and add a vehicle with its mileage and details. From a vehicle's page you can log service, add fuel fill-ups, attach documents, set reminders, track tires, and log trips. The Stats tab shows annual cost history and service gaps once you have records.

Annual Cost Breakdown

Open a vehicle and tap the Stats tab. Drive Case groups your fuel and service spend by calendar year, shows a stacked bar chart, and calculates cost-per-mile for each year. A lifetime summary at the bottom shows total running costs and your overall cost per mile. Records must be logged under the vehicle (fuel entries and service records with dates) for the chart to appear.

Service History Check

The vehicle Overview and Stats tab both show a Service History Check. Drive Case compares your actual logged service records against standard maintenance intervals (oil change every 5,000 mi, tire rotation every 7,500 mi, etc.) and flags anything that is 80% consumed or overdue. This works from your logged history — you do not need to set up reminders for these checks to run.

Business Mileage Export

Log trips with the Business or Commute purpose. Once you have at least one such trip, the Export screen gains a "Business Mileage Log" option that generates a CSV with every business and commute trip, a subtotal per calendar year, and a grand total. This format is suitable for IRS mileage deduction records or employer reimbursement.

Tire Tracker

Open a vehicle and tap the Tires section. Add a tire set with the brand, model, size, and installed mileage. Once a set is added, tap "Log Tread Depth" to record readings for all four positions in 32nds of an inch. Drive Case shows a colour-coded wear grid, projects miles to replacement based on your wear rate, and warns you when tread reaches safety thresholds.

Trip Log

Open a vehicle and tap the Trips section, then tap the plus button to log a trip. Enter a name, date, start and end mileage, and a purpose category. Business and commute miles are tracked separately, making it easy to total up reimbursable or tax-deductible mileage. Use Export > Business Mileage Log for a yearly summary.

Fuel Insights

Log at least two fuel fill-ups for a vehicle and the Fuel tab will show a Fuel Insights card with your best and worst tank MPG, average price per gallon, average monthly spend, and octane usage. Mark fill-ups as full tanks for the most accurate MPG calculations.

Document Vault

Open a vehicle, choose the Docs tab, and tap the plus button to attach a PDF or photo. Saved files open in-app with Quick Look and can be removed with a swipe.

Export

Use the export button on the dashboard, in Settings, or on a vehicle's menu to create a PDF report, a full CSV backup, or a business mileage log CSV. Share or save the file wherever you like.

Reminders

Turn on notifications in Settings and pick a lead time. Drive Case alerts you before mileage and date based service is due and before insurance, registration, and inspection expire.

Reference

The Reference library bundles a standard maintenance schedule and short guides for offline use. Recall information is configuration-level only — always verify your VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Common Questions

Does the app require an account?
No. Drive Case works fully offline with no account and no sign-in.

Where is my data stored?
On your device. Records leave your phone only when you choose to export or share them.

Is there a subscription or in-app purchase?
No. Drive Case is a one-time purchase with no in-app purchases and no ads.

How is fuel economy calculated?
Drive Case uses the full-tank method between full fill-ups and excludes partial fills from the distance math for accuracy. Mark a fill-up as a full tank for the most accurate MPG.

What tread depth units does the Tire Tracker use?
Readings are entered in 32nds of an inch, the standard unit used by tread depth gauges and tire professionals. New tires typically measure around 10/32". Drive Case warns at 4/32" (reduced wet traction, per AAA guidance) and at 2/32" (NHTSA legal minimum in most US states).

Does the Trip Log use GPS or run in the background?
No. Trips are logged manually — you enter the start and end mileage yourself. Drive Case never uses location services or runs in the background.

How does the Service History Check work?
Drive Case reads your logged service records and calculates how many miles have passed since each tracked service type was last performed. It compares that figure against a standard interval (e.g., 5,000 mi for oil changes) and shows a progress bar for each. No reminder setup is required. The check covers oil changes, tire rotations, air filters, brakes, transmission fluid, coolant, and spark plugs.

What is the Business Mileage Log for?
It produces a filtered CSV of only your Business and Commute purpose trips, with one row per trip and a subtotal per calendar year. Many people use this to document mileage for IRS Schedule C (self-employed mileage deduction) or to submit to an employer for reimbursement.
