Sublayer Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 27, 2026. This policy explains how Sublayer handles data.
Data Handling
Sublayer may access microphone audio when the customer starts captioning. Speech recognition runs on the Mac through Apple's Speech framework. Transcripts, session briefs, dictionary entries, watchwords, and settings are stored locally unless the customer exports them.
Information You Choose
The app may store content you create, record, select, or export. That information remains under your control on your Mac unless you use macOS sharing, export, backup, or sync features outside the app.
Tracking and Third Parties
Sublayer does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not sell personal data, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Permissions
The app requests microphone and Speech Recognition permission for live captions. Standard macOS save panels may be used when you export transcripts, captions, insights, or briefs.
