Tell Pack Pulse the trip type, number of nights, weather, whether you'll have laundry, if it's international, and which activities you have planned. It builds a complete, categorized packing list in seconds — documents, electronics, toiletries, clothing, footwear, health, gear, and more. Quantities scale to trip length and drop when laundry is available, so a carry-on trip gets a carry-on list. Everything is generated on-device from a bundled checklist of common travel essentials.
Each trip now holds individual, checkable items grouped by category, with a per-item quantity and an essential badge for documents, medication, and chargers. A progress bar fills as you pack, an at-a-glance warning counts unpacked essentials, and "Mark all packed" closes out a finished bag. Add or delete any item, and start a fully blank trip when you prefer to build a list by hand.

Earlier versions tracked a trip as a single record with a free-text note. Version 1.2 turns each trip into an actual checklist of individual things to pack — the way you really use a packing app. Quantities are computed for you: socks and underwear scale with the number of nights, dress shirts halve when you have laundry, and one-off items like a passport or laptop charger stay at one. You can adjust everything.
The generator blends a universal essentials block, an international block, your trip type, the season, and each activity you select — then merges duplicates so "sunscreen" only appears once even if both the beach and hot-weather rules suggest it. Documents and electronics surface first because those are the items travelers most often forget and least want to.
