Naplane Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 15, 2026. This policy explains how Naplane handles your data.
Data Handling
Naplane is designed as a fully on-device utility. Nap history (up to 100 records), settings (sound on/off, default goal, sleep-onset buffer, brown-noise volume, screen-awake preference), and all other preferences are stored locally on your device using the system's UserDefaults storage. No data is sent to any server.
What Is Stored
Each logged nap record contains: the start timestamp, planned and actual duration in minutes, the selected goal (Recharge, Memory, Creativity, or Coffee Nap), the energy slider value at the time, whether the session completed or was cancelled, and the optional felt-rating (Groggy, Refreshed, or Amazing) you enter after waking. No other data is written.
CSV Export
When you use the Export CSV feature, Naplane writes a temporary CSV file to your device's local temp directory and opens the iOS share sheet. The file is deleted when you dismiss the share sheet. No data is uploaded to any server at any point — you decide where the file goes (AirDrop, Mail, Files, etc.).
Tracking and Third Parties
Naplane does not track users across apps or websites and does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The bundled PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy file declares no tracking and no collected data types beyond UserDefaults (required reason CA92.1).
Network Access
Naplane makes no network connections of any kind. The recommendation engine, brown-noise generator, Nap Science guide content, insights engine, and export feature are all fully on-device.
Permissions
Naplane requests no system permissions. The microphone is not used. The camera is not used. Location is not used. Contacts are not used. The audio background mode (declared in UIBackgroundModes) allows the brown-noise sound bath to continue playing when the screen locks — no other background activity occurs.
