That periodic chirp is real. ChirpHound helps you work out which device and which room it is coming from, privately and offline.

Start with Auto Discover or choose a frequency preset, then walk through the space. ChirpHound learns the local noise floor, isolates repeatable tonal energy out of ordinary household noise, and gives you live warmer/colder evidence as you approach the source.

THE HOT-AND-COLD GAME, BETWEEN CHIRPS
The beep you are hunting only sounds once every 30-60 seconds, so an instant meter is not enough.
- Chirp Trail gives every new chirp a verdict: WARMER or COLDER than the last one, with the dB change and a trail of recent chirps
- True-peak measurement reads the whole chirp, not a single instant, so every dB level and frequency estimate is honest
- Live relative-dB warmth gauge and, on multi-microphone devices, a directional bearing arrow

FIND THE BAND
- Auto Discover scans 24 bands from 400 Hz to 6 kHz and ranks repeatable, tonal candidates
- 15 curated presets cover alarms, appliances, leak sensors, UPS units, smart devices, and more, plus your own custom presets
- A live spectrogram shows where tonal energy is building; freeze it to inspect a beep you missed

HEARING ASSIST
Cannot hear high-pitched beeps? Your phone can.
- Screen flash and torch blink the instant a chirp is heard
- Spoken guidance tells you warmer or colder as you move
- With headphones on, a low-pitched tone you CAN hear tracks the signal

NAME THE DEVICE
- Device Dossier identifies the likely source (for example, one chirp every ~40 s at 3.2 kHz, smoke-alarm low battery), shows its evidence and sources, and gives you the exact fix
- Tap-to-Mark: if a beep is too faint for the mic, tap when you hear it and ChirpHound still decodes the pattern and identifies the device

SAFETY-FIRST PATTERN GUIDANCE
ChirpHound recognizes repeated groups as well as periodic single chirps. A three-beep pattern is treated as possible smoke or fire; a four-beep pattern as possible carbon monoxide. Maintenance codes vary by manufacturer and model, so the app asks you to verify the exact device manual instead of making a universal claim.
