MagStud Pro Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 17, 2026. This policy explains how MagStud Pro handles data.
Data Handling
Scan sessions, detection records, notes, voice memos, and attached images are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. The app does not require an account and does not collect personal data.
Information You Choose to Enter
The app may store content you create, enter, save, import, select, record, or export. That information remains under your control on your device unless you use Apple system sharing, export, backup, or sync features outside the app.
Tracking and Third Parties
MagStud Pro does not track users across apps or websites and does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services.
Permissions
Motion and magnetometer data support the core sensing tools. Camera and photo library access are optional — only used if you choose to attach a wall photo to a journal entry. Microphone access is optional — only used if you choose to record a voice memo attached to a detection. None of these sensor streams leave the device.
PDF, PNG, and CSV Exports
When you export a PDF report, a wall heatmap PNG, a Stud Sketch PNG, a Drill Safe strip PNG, or a CSV file using the in-app share sheet, the file is created in your device's temporary storage and shared only through the iOS share sheet under your direct control. The app does not upload these files anywhere.
