Fossilindex · App overview
Document specimen loans and condition checkpoints.
Keep operator-entered condition observations, photos and custody chronology together throughout a collection loan.
What you can do
- Describe known specimen regions and record outbound, arrival, pre-return and returned checkpoints.
- Compare documented observations and preserve selected source media with hashes.
- Prepare PDF, JSON and Darwin Core-mapped CSV dossiers, with restricted locality withheld from shared artifacts by default.
Scope and limitations
Fossilindex does not identify a specimen, analyze a photo with AI, appraise an object or certify authenticity, condition or legal compliance. Check the export review before sharing restricted information.
Your records, your choices
Workspace, specimen, loan, condition, checkpoint, custody and review records are stored locally. Selected source media is copied into local Application Support; display derivatives are stored separately.
