Escapement Support

Tap the + button in Watch Box to add a watch. Fill in the name, brand, movement type, and beat rate. Then tap "Log Reading" — set your watch to a trusted reference (an atomic clock app or GPS time signal), wait at least 24 hours, and enter the observed difference when you return.

For a full five-position analysis, log readings in Dial Up, Dial Down, Crown Down, Crown Left, and Crown Right. The app will show a regulation suggestion once it has data in at least three positions.

After moving your regulator, tap "Regulation Journal" on the watch detail screen and log the adjustment — calibre, click count, and direction. The next time you log an accuracy reading, the app automatically shows whether the adjustment hit its target and how close the sensitivity model was to the actual result. This builds an empirical record of how your specific movement responds to regulation.

A sudden large positive rate shift (often +20 to +90 s/day) is the most common symptom of a magnetised balance spring. Tap "Magnetic Events" on the watch detail screen to log a suspected magnetisation or a confirmed demagnetisation visit. Record the rate before and after demagnetisation to see the measured improvement. These events also appear in the exported PDF accuracy card.

Go to the Reference tab and select "Regulator Calc." Enter your observed s/day rate and pick your calibre family from the expanded 25-calibre list. The calculator outputs the exact quarter-turn click count and direction. When you apply those clicks, log the attempt in the Regulation Journal on the watch detail screen to track the real-world outcome.

Open any watch in the Watch Box and tap "Export PDF" or "Export CSV" in the action row. The PDF now includes the Regulation Journal and Magnetic Events tables in addition to the accuracy report. For a collection-wide CSV, go to the Stats tab and tap "Export All Readings."

Tap the Timegrapher tab and grant microphone access. Place the phone microphone close to the watch in a quiet room. Select the watch or enter its beat rate manually. Press Start and wait for confidence to reach 70% or higher before trusting the reading. Note: a phone microphone is not a substitute for a contact microphone; readings are approximate.

The Reference tab contains accuracy standards (including the new COSC Excellence tier), beat rates, lift angles by caliber family, amplitude interpretation, beat error guidance, service intervals, and power reserve bands — all offline, no internet needed.

Escapement requests microphone access only for the optional timegrapher session. Nothing is recorded or stored. All watch data lives on your device in SwiftData storage. No network connection is ever used.
