What It Does

Escapement uses the two-point drift method: set your watch to an atomic reference, wait a day or more, compare again. It computes a signed seconds-per-day rate, buckets it against COSC and METAS standards, and tracks the trend over time for every watch in your collection.

Regulation Journal — log every regulation attempt: calibre family, click count, direction, pre-rate, and target rate. Once you add your next accuracy reading the app computes the actual result vs. the model's prediction so you build an empirical record of how your specific movement responds.
Magnetic Events log — the most common cause of sudden large positive rate spikes is a magnetised balance spring (+20 to +90 s/day is typical). Log suspected magnetisation incidents and confirmed demagnetisation visits, record before/after rates, and see the measured improvement. Reference based on the METAS 15 000 A/m magnetic resistance standard.
Expanded calibre database — the Regulator Calculator now covers 25 calibre families (up from 9), adding ETA 2836, ETA Powermatic 80, Miyota 9000/9015, Seiko NH38 & 8L35, Grand Seiko 9SA5, Tudor MT5612, Rolex 3186 GMT, Omega 321, IWC 52x, JLC 899, AP 3120, Patek 324, and Système Breguet swan-neck, sourced from Daniels and Flume.

Privacy

All data is stored on your device using SwiftData. Escapement never contacts any server, collects no analytics, and requires no account. The microphone is used only during an active timegrapher session — nothing is recorded or stored. Exports (PDF, CSV) go wherever you share them; the app retains no copy.
