Common questions

Why does DocUpick ask for camera access?

Camera access is used so you can scan documents and turn the recognized text into editable notes.

Why does DocUpick ask for photo access?

Photo access is used to save the original captured picture to your camera roll or to import an existing image when you choose that option.

Why does DocUpick ask for notification permission?

Notification permission is used to send local on-device reminders when a document's expiry date is approaching. This is entirely optional — you can use DocUpick without enabling notifications. No data leaves your device for notifications.

Can I set a reminder for when a document expires?

Yes. Open any note, scroll to "Expiry & reminder", and tap "Set expiry date". DocUpick will send a local notification 3 days before and on the expiry date. Reminders are stored on your device and require no account or internet.

How do I merge separately-scanned pages into one note?

Open the destination note, tap the menu (the three-dot icon), and choose "Merge pages from another note". Select the notes you want to merge in and tap Merge. Those notes' pages are appended to the current note and the originals are deleted.

Can I organize scanned notes?

Yes. DocUpick supports folders, tags, pinned notes, search, sorting, and filters including a dedicated "Expiring Soon" filter.

Can I export a scan?

Yes. Open a note and use PDF export (scan image), searchable PDF, or text-only PDF from the action menu. You can also export the full library as a CSV spreadsheet from the Insights tab.

Does DocUpick upload my notes?

No. Notes, page images, folders, tags, and preferences are stored locally in the app container. Text recognition and notifications all run on device.
