Backyard Biome Privacy Policy
Effective July 27, 2026. This policy describes the release version of Backyard Biome.
Summary
Backyard Biome does not collect personal data, track you, show advertising, require an account, or connect to a developer-operated server.
On-Device Game Data
Garden layouts, species discoveries, settings, generated scenario seeds, achievement progress, and journal records are stored in the app's local container on your device.
Optional iCloud Synchronization
If you enable iCloud synchronization, game-state records are stored in the private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account. The feature is optional, the game remains fully playable with it disabled, and no data is sent to a Shadowfetch server.
Optional Game Center
If you enable Game Center, Apple may process player identity, achievement, leaderboard, challenge, and activity information under Apple's terms and privacy policy. Backyard Biome submits only gameplay scores and achievement progress needed for those features.
Network and Third-Party Services
The game contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, social-network, crash-reporting, or data-broker SDK. Network access is limited to the Apple services you choose to enable.
Retention and Deletion
Local records remain until you reset the garden workspace or remove the app. Optional iCloud and Game Center information is managed through your Apple Account and Apple's controls.
Children and Sensitive Information
The game does not solicit or collect personal, health, location, contact, or environmental property information. It includes no chat, public profiles, user-generated content, or direct purchases.
Changes and Contact
This policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before a future release changes these practices. Email support@shadowfetch.com with privacy questions.
