Select a habitat element in the lower palette, tap a yard cell to place it, then advance the season. Start with plant structure, water access, and decomposer habitat before optimizing individual species.

Why did one population explode?
Food, shelter, weather, predators, and disease interact. Open Food Web to inspect the current relationships before removing the species that is balancing another population.

Is this professional gardening advice?
No. Backyard Biome is a scientifically grounded entertainment simulation, not pesticide, horticultural, veterinary, or environmental guidance.

Does it work offline?
Yes. Every scenario, season, species entry, journal record, and soundtrack track is included. Game Center and iCloud are optional.

What accessibility support is included?
Menus support Dynamic Type, VoiceOver describes cells and ecological state, symbols do not rely on color alone, and reduced-motion and haptic options are in Settings.
