Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. The app works without sign-in or account creation.

Does the app sync with the web?

No. The app stores its daily water records locally on your device. There is no cloud sync.

What drink sizes are included?

Six quick-tap sizes — Glass (8 oz), Mug (12 oz), Water Bottle (16 oz), Tumbler (24 oz), Large Bottle (32 oz), and Gallon Jug (128 oz) — plus a bundled catalog of 45+ beverages you can log in any container size.

Can I add a drink I forgot to log yesterday? (new in 1.4)

Yes. In the Last 7 Days section on the main screen, tap any past day to open the Day Detail view. Tap the "Add a missed drink" button (or the + icon in the top-right corner) to open the Past-Day Entry sheet. You can log a quick-tap drink size, a custom water amount, or any catalog beverage. The day's total updates immediately.

What is the Catch-Up Advisor? (new in 1.4)

When you're behind pace and still have time before your configured sleep window (or 10 PM by default), a Catch-Up Advisor card appears below today's total. It shows how many ounces you still need, how many ~8 oz sips to take, and how often to space them so you reach your goal before bedtime — no guesswork required. The card disappears automatically once your goal is met.

What are Consecutive Goal Weeks? (new in 1.4)

The All-Time Insights screen now shows how many complete calendar weeks in a row your daily average intake met or beat your daily goal. It counts only fully elapsed weeks (not the current partial week). A week without any logged entries breaks the streak. Find it in Settings → All-Time Insights or tap "All time" on the main screen.

How do I log a custom amount quickly?

Tap the pencil icon (Custom) above the drink buttons. A sheet opens with common shortcuts (4 oz through 20 oz, or the equivalent in your chosen unit) or a number field where you can type any amount. It logs immediately and the sheet closes automatically.

What is the hydration color check?

Tap the drop icon in the top-right corner of the main screen. An 8-shade color scale lets you save the closest shade as a personal wellness note. The app uses observation-based labels, does not diagnose or monitor any condition, and cannot evaluate symptoms or unusual colors. One note is saved per day and appears on your main screen in the This Week card.

What is the All-Time Insights screen?

Tap "All time" in the This Week card or go to Settings and tap All-Time Insights. You'll see your personal best single day, all-time longest streak, overall daily average, goal hit rate, consecutive goal weeks, a day-of-week chart, and your recent color check history.

How do reminders work?

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device across the wake window you choose. They need notification permission, and the app works fully without them. Nothing is sent to a server.

What is the goal calculator?

It suggests a daily target from your body weight, activity level, and climate. The formula and its cited sources are shown inside the app. It is general wellness guidance, not medical advice.

What is the beverage hydration index?

An optional setting that weights each drink by how much fluid your body tends to retain compared with plain water (water = 1.0). The values are based on a peer-reviewed study and are educational estimates.

Can I use milliliters?

Yes. You can switch the whole app between ounces, milliliters, and cups in Settings. Totals, goals, container sizes, and Quick Add shortcuts all follow your choice.

Can I fix a mistaken entry?

Yes. You can delete any individual drink from today or open a past day from the history to remove an entry, which recalculates that day's total automatically. You can also add missed entries to past days using the new Past-Day Entry feature.

How do I back up my data?

Use the Data & Backup screen to export a JSON or CSV file via the share sheet, and import a JSON backup later to restore your history.

What is the Routine Coach? (new in 1.4.2)

The Routine Coach appears on the main screen below today's total. It compares your logged amount with the expected pace across your wake window, then labels the day as ahead, steady, behind, or complete. It also shows the next practical sip size and timing based on your remaining ounces and reminder schedule.
