Trash Day support.
For help with pickup schedules, Curbside Readiness, holiday shifts, the recycling guide, reminders, or notification permissions, email support with your device model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened.
Common questions
Why does Trash Day ask for notification permission?
Notification permission is used to send local reminders before scheduled pickup days. Notifications are created on your device and never sent through a server.
Does Trash Day know my location?
No. Trash Day does not request location access. You create the pickup schedule yourself.
Can I track more than one bin?
Yes. You can set up trash, recycling, yard-waste, compost, bulk, and glass bins with separate schedules and individual reminder times.
What is Curbside Readiness?
Curbside Readiness is the home-screen checklist for the next pickup group. It summarizes timing, cart spacing, recycling contamination checks, bulk pickup cautions, holiday-shift alerts, and a shareable prep note.
How do I shift a pickup when there is a holiday?
Tap any bin row on the home screen to open its detail sheet. Under the reminder section you will see "Shift this pickup (holiday)." Tap it, choose how many days late (+1, +2, or +3), and confirm. The reminder reschedules automatically. The shift clears itself after the new pickup date passes so your regular schedule resumes the following week.
What is the "What Goes Where?" guide?
It is a bundled offline reference with 100+ common household items. Tap the recycle icon in the top bar on the home screen, then search for any item — pizza box, battery, aluminum foil — to get a curbside verdict (yes / no / check locally) and a disposal tip. No internet connection is required.
Does Trash Day upload my schedule?
No. Bin schedules, reminder preferences, and all app data are stored locally on your device. Nothing leaves your phone.
Why did my holiday shift disappear?
Holiday shifts are one-time overrides. Once the shifted pickup date passes, the app automatically removes the override so your regular weekly or biweekly schedule resumes. This is intentional — you should not need to clear it manually.
The recycling guide says "check locally" for an item. What does that mean?
"Check locally" means roughly half of US programs accept the item curbside and half do not. The tip in the guide explains the specific situation and often names a take-back alternative. Your city's sanitation website is the definitive source for your hauler's rules.
