Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Rainy Days Scheduler works without sign-in or account creation.
Why does the app ask for location?
Location access is optional and used only to fetch a local forecast. You can also choose a city manually in Settings.
Why does the app ask for calendar access?
Calendar access is optional and read-only. It lets the app import upcoming events so it can check weather conflicts automatically.
Where does the weather come from?
Forecast and geocoding data come from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com). No API key or account is required.
How does the Multi-Day Trip Planner work?
Open Insights and tap "Multi-Day Trip Planner." Choose a trip length (1–7 days) and an optional activity preset. The planner scans every consecutive block in your 10-day forecast and ranks them by average weather score, so you can see the best stretch at a glance. A day-by-day score ring inside each window shows the worst-day pocket so nothing is hidden.
How do I export my schedule to a spreadsheet?
Tap the share icon on the Insights tab and choose "Export as CSV." The file opens in Numbers, Excel, Google Sheets, or any app that accepts .csv files. Each row includes date, time, title, duration, location, category, recurrence, weather score, rain %, temperature, wind, notes, and completion status.
What does the Precipitation Outlook chart show?
The Forecast tab now includes a 10-day bar chart of daily rain probability. A teal dot overlay shows the relative precipitation accumulation for each day — so you can spot a wet week at a glance without scrolling through individual rows.
How do I export as PDF?
Tap the share icon on the Insights tab and choose "Export as PDF." The PDF includes all upcoming events with per-event weather data and scores.
What is a weather score?
Each outdoor event gets a 0–100 composite score combining rain chance (40%), wind speed (25%), temperature comfort (25%), and UV intensity (10%). A score above 70 is Good or better; below 40 is conditions worth reconsidering.
How are activity presets different from a custom rain threshold?
Activity presets (Running, Cycling, Hiking, Golf, Camping, and more) set optimised rain and wind thresholds, comfortable temperature ranges, and scoring weights specific to that activity — so a 20 mph wind matters much more to a cyclist than to a gardener. Custom lets you set the rain threshold manually.
