PostProof
Support
PostProof helps creators check short-form video safe zones, captions, faces, covers, trims, and exports before posting.
Common questions
- Does PostProof post to social media? No. It prepares an export and lets you share or save it yourself.
- Does my video leave my device? No. Analysis, cover frame extraction, and export are all handled locally on your device.
- Why does the app ask for Photos access? To let you choose a clip and optionally save an export or cover back to Photos. You control which video is selected.
- Why is a text region marked as risky? It overlaps the selected layout's safe-zone overlay and may be covered by buttons, captions, or labels after upload.
- Can I use it without an account? Yes. PostProof has no login.
- How does the Best-Layout Recommendation work? After FrameCheck runs, PostProof ranks all 10 layouts for your specific clip — by covered regions, worst-region coverage ratio, whether your clip's duration is in each layout's recommended range, and whether your clip's aspect ratio matches natively. The top-ranked layout is shown as the hero pick with a plain-English reason. Tap it to switch the active layout instantly.
- How do I use the Cover Frame Scrubber? In the "Pick any cover frame" panel, drag the slider to any point in the clip. PostProof extracts that frame on-device, runs the same sharpness, contrast, and face-detection scoring used during analysis, and shows a scored preview. Tap the frame to select it as your cover. The auto-sampled picks are still available below the scrubber for quick selection.
- How do the hashtag presets work? In the Caption Pack, scroll down to the Hashtag Presets section. Tap a category chip (Education, Comedy, Lifestyle, etc.) to expand its 8-tag set and see a preview. Tap "Add" to merge those tags into your hashtag draft (duplicates are skipped automatically), or "Replace" to swap the entire draft. All presets are offline — no network needed.
- How do I compare two saved proofs? In the Proofs tab, long-press any row to set it as version A, then pick any other proof as version B. The compare sheet shows exact score deltas and a winner indicator for each metric.
- How do I see the trend chart? Save at least two proofs and the Stop Score trend chart appears automatically at the top of the Proofs tab.
- How do I open the full detail view for a saved proof? Tap (short-press) any row in the Proofs tab to open the detail sheet with all scores, your caption, and a copyable breakdown.
Troubleshooting
- If a video will not import, try exporting it from Photos as a standard MP4 or MOV and import again.
- If the cover frame scrubber shows "Frame unavailable at this point," try dragging to a slightly different time. Very short clips or clips with unusual encoding may have limited seekable frames.
- If export takes longer than expected, use a shorter trim range or 720p output.
- If Photos saving is denied, open iOS Settings and allow PostProof to add to Photos.
