KinCasebook Support

Help with local proof cases, source custody, evidence links, privacy-safe packets, and recovery.

Start with the complete sample

Open the included Samuel Hart sample case to inspect competing hypotheses, citations, atomic claims, evidence links, negative searches, chronology, conflicts, and conclusion provenance without entering personal data. The sample is fictional.

What closes the review gate?

A case is review ready when it has a focused question, citations for every source, source provenance for every claim, resolved conflicts, and supporting claims for every conclusion sentence. Advisory prompts also encourage multiple hypotheses and well-scoped negative searches.

Back up and move a case

Use the portable proof-case export to create an integrity-checked .kinproof file. That archive can be imported into KinCasebook. The PDF, CSV, source manifest, and GEDCOM reference are review and interchange files; they are not substitutes for the portable case.

Living-person sharing

Keep Exclude living-person records enabled when preparing a share packet. Private candidates, sources, claims, timeline links, conflicts, and conclusion sentences are removed from that packet. Review every generated file before sharing it.

Source attachments

Imported source files are copied into KinCasebook's protected app container and recorded with a SHA-256 digest. Deleting a case also removes its locally stored attachments. Keep independent archival copies of original records.

Version 1 migration

Version 2 can migrate the earlier local workspace model into the evidence-led case model. If the library cannot be decoded, KinCasebook leaves the original file unchanged and reports the problem.

Permissions and network use

KinCasebook does not request location, contacts, microphone, camera, notifications, or tracking permission. A system file picker or photo picker grants access only to files or images you select. Support and privacy links open only when you choose them.
