Privacy in Graincount
How this app handles local records, optional access, sharing and deletion.
Who provides the app
Graincount is provided by Robert Corbin / Shadowfetch. This policy applies to the app and to support requests about it. Effective September 4, 2026.
Data on your device
Imported micrographs, scale calibration, manual marks, study inputs, calculated summaries and revisions are stored in the app's local container.
Developer collection and tracking
The app does not send usage analytics, advertising identifiers or your workspace to the developer. It has no advertising or tracking SDK and does not require a developer account. Local information is used to provide the features you operate, not to build an advertising profile.
Permissions and optional features
You can select an image through Apple's Photos picker or import a file. The Photos picker gives access to selected images only. Graincount does not request camera, microphone or location access.
Network and services
The app has no developer-operated backend or automatic upload service. Its app-specific processing takes place on the device. If you open a support or reference website, or select a cloud-backed file provider, that browser or provider may make its own network connections under its own policy.
Imports, exports and device backups
Files, photos or other records you select may be copied into the app for the requested feature. When you choose an export, share destination or clipboard action, the resulting content is made available to the destination you choose. Inspect it for sensitive information first. Copies outside the app are governed by that destination. Ordinary app data may be included in device or cloud backups according to your Apple settings; this is separate from a developer-operated cloud sync service.
Retention and deletion
The study controls include Delete selected study and Delete all local studies. The confirmed deletion removes local studies and immutable source copies. Deleting the app also removes its local container. Local records remain until you remove them or the app container. Exported copies and device backups must be managed separately through their respective Files, provider or backup controls.
Support and privacy requests
If you email support, the developer receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send, and uses them to answer your request. Send only the information needed to explain the issue. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations; contact us to request deletion of that correspondence.

Policy changes
Changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date. If a future app feature changes how information is handled, its disclosure and permission controls should be reviewed before you use it.
