Frequency Loom Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 19, 2026. Last updated: June 17, 2026 (v1.2). This policy explains how Frequency Loom handles data.
Summary
Frequency Loom collects no personal data, has no account system, sends nothing to a server, and contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The only device permission it requests is the microphone, and audio is processed in real time on-device and never stored or transmitted.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any contact information.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not record, store, or transmit raw audio.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or fingerprinting.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc.).
- We do not track users across apps or websites (Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework is not used because tracking does not occur).
Data Stored On Your Device
Frequency Loom may store the following data locally on your iPhone, in SwiftData containers:
- RT60 room measurements (date, RT60 value, FFT snapshot, notes you enter)
- SPL exposure log entries (date, duration, average SPL)
- Audiogram results (hearing thresholds per frequency you enter or measure)
- Vocal warmup session history
- Dosimeter session data you record
- App settings (calibration offset, tuner reference, FFT size preference)
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (e.g. CSV or PDF via the iOS share sheet) or it is included in your device's encrypted backup (iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backup, per your device settings).
Microphone Permission
Microphone access is required for audio measurement features: real-time spectrum analysis, SPL metering, RT60 impulse capture, multiband RT60 analysis, chromatic tuning, LUFS loudness metering, hum identification, dosimeter, and audiogram. Audio is processed in memory in real time. The app does not record audio to files.
No Network Requests
Frequency Loom makes no network requests at runtime. There are no API calls, crash reporters, or background sync processes.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how data is handled in a material way, we will update this policy and the effective date above. Because no personal data is collected, changes to this policy would likely reflect new iOS features or permission types added to the app.
