Common questions

What is Claim Plan? (New in 1.3)

Claim Plan turns one purchase record into a local evidence checklist, action timeline, and contact script. It is designed to help you gather proof, generate a packet, contact the store or manufacturer before the next deadline, and log the outcome.

Does Claim Plan contact the store for me?

No. ClaimDock organizes the information and gives you text you can copy or share. You choose whether and how to contact the retailer or manufacturer.

What is Claim Readiness?

Claim Readiness is a local checklist score for a purchase. It looks for practical evidence such as a receipt photo or PDF, item details, product model or serial number, notes, retailer policy references, and active deadlines. It is meant to help you organize your record before contacting a retailer or manufacturer.

Does Claim Readiness guarantee a refund or warranty outcome?

No. ClaimDock is an organization and reminder aid. Retailers and manufacturers make their own decisions, and policies can change. Always confirm the current policy before acting.

How does ClaimDock decide my return window? (New in 1.1)

When you add a purchase you pick a category — general merchandise, electronics, phone, major appliance, apparel, and so on. ClaimDock looks up the chosen retailer's published window for that category, because electronics, phones, and appliances usually have shorter windows than general goods. If the retailer publishes nothing for the category, ClaimDock falls back to its standard window. You can change the category any time from the purchase detail screen and the deadline recalculates instantly.

Can I set my own return window? (New in 1.1)

Yes. Turn on "Custom return window" when adding or editing a purchase and enter the number of days. This is useful for stores not in the built-in catalog, holiday extensions, or a courtesy window a manager gave you. A custom window always overrides the catalog.

How do I add deadlines to my calendar? (New in 1.1)

Open a purchase and tap "Add deadlines to Calendar (.ics)". ClaimDock creates a standard calendar file with one all-day event per active deadline and a day-before reminder, then opens the share sheet so you can add it to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, or any app that reads .ics files. Nothing is uploaded — the file is created on your device.

Why does ClaimDock ask for camera access?

Camera access is used when you choose to scan a receipt.

Why does ClaimDock ask for photo access?

Photo access is used when you choose to add an existing receipt image from your library.

Does ClaimDock submit returns or warranty claims for me?

No. ClaimDock helps you organize deadlines and create claim summaries, but you remain in control of contacting the retailer or manufacturer.

Are the return policies guaranteed accurate?

ClaimDock's built-in retailer policies are a helpful reference compiled from publicly published policies and may change at any time. Always confirm the current policy with the retailer, and use a custom window when your receipt says something different.

Does ClaimDock upload my receipts?

No. Purchase records and receipt details are stored locally on your device.
