Chordpeek Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 15, 2026. This policy explains how Chordpeek handles data.
Microphone and Audio
Chordpeek uses the device microphone only while the Listen screen is active and the user has tapped the Listen button. Audio is analyzed on-device in real time using an FFT algorithm to detect pitch classes and match them to the built-in chord library. No audio is recorded, buffered beyond the analysis window, stored, or transmitted anywhere.
On-Device Processing
All chord recognition, capo transposition calculations, chord progression lookups, and key-context analysis happen entirely on the device. Chordpeek makes no network requests.
User Data
Chordpeek stores two items in UserDefaults on your device: (1) whether you have seen the welcome screen, and (2) your list of favorited chord names (a comma-separated string of chord names such as "Am,G,C"). No chord history, usage statistics, audio recordings, or personal information is collected or retained. Favorites never leave your device.
Tracking and Third Parties
Chordpeek does not track users across apps or websites, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not include any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Permissions
Microphone access is the only system permission Chordpeek requests, and only when the user taps Listen for the first time. The permission can be revoked at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
