No haptics on my deviceHaptics require a device with a Taptic Engine (iPhone 7 and later). On older devices or the Simulator, haptics silently fall back to UIImpactFeedbackGenerator — you may feel a lighter response. iPads without a Taptic Engine will not feel cue pulses. Check that Settings → Sounds & Haptics → System Haptics is enabled.
The cue fired at the wrong timeThe timer uses wall-clock deltas (not accumulated ticks) so it stays accurate under UI load. If a cue fired slightly early or late, it is likely due to a brief system interruption. The error is typically under 100ms and resets at the next cue.
How do I use a format from the Formats tab?Open the Formats tab, find the format you want, and tap "Save as preset." The format is added to your saved presets in the Timer tab. Tap it there to load the timings, then press Start.
Script calculator: what does "Live delivery" do?Most speakers run 10–20% faster on stage than in rehearsal due to adrenaline. Enabling the Live delivery toggle applies a 15% speedup to the estimated duration, giving you a more realistic target. Turn it off to see the rehearsal estimate.
Export session history as CSVOpen the History tab. Tap the share icon in the top-right toolbar. The iOS share sheet will open so you can send the CSV to Files, Numbers, Mail, or any compatible app. The file includes date, preset name, planned and actual duration, cues fired, completion percentage, and outcome (finished/aborted).
Delete a session or presetSessions cannot be deleted individually — use Settings → Clear history to remove all sessions at once. Presets can be deleted from the Timer tab: tap a preset to load it, then tap the trash icon that appears next to the Save button.
The screen turned off during my talkGo to Settings and make sure "Keep screen on while running" is enabled. This disables auto-lock while the timer is active. The screen will lock again normally after you stop.
Reset everythingGo to Settings → Reset all Talkbeat data. This removes all presets and session history and re-shows the welcome screen. The three default presets (Lightning Talk, Standup, Conference Talk) are re-created automatically.
