Marginalia Support
For help, include your iPhone or iPad model, iOS version, Apple Intelligence status, document type, and the screen where the issue happened.
Importing FilesUse the plus button to choose a text-based PDF, plain text, or Markdown file. Scanned PDFs need selectable text before Marginalia can read them.
Sample DocumentIf you want to test the app before importing a file, tap Try a sample document on onboarding or Load sample in Settings.
On-Device AISummaries, questions, and extracts require Apple Intelligence support. If it is unavailable, the app will still let you import and read documents.
SummariesOpen a document and tap Summarize. Review important details against the source text before relying on AI output.
AskOpen a document and tap Ask. Answers are based on excerpts from the selected document, not the open web.
ExtractUse Extract to generate key points, action items, outlines, or glossary entries from the document text.
