Common questions

How does FormFerry know when I should follow up?

When you set a submitted date and choose a paperwork type, FormFerry adds the typical processing window for that type to your submitted date and suggests a reasonable time to check in. These windows are bundled reference estimates, not promises of a decision date.

Where do the follow-up windows come from?

They are drawn from publicly documented processing norms — for example, FOIA's 20-business-day statutory response, 2026 U.S. passport routine timelines, and common insurance and records-request windows. The Toolkit tab lists each window with its source.

Does FormFerry submit my forms or contact agencies for me?

No. FormFerry helps you organize status and remember when to follow up, but you remain in control of contacting the office, agency, or company.

Does FormFerry upload my records?

No. Every record and follow-up log entry is stored locally on your device. There is no account and no server.

What is the PDF paper trail?

It is a printable document listing each form, its follow-up window, its contact details, and its complete follow-up log — useful to hand to a caseworker or keep for your own records.
